The Sims 3 Hits 3.7 Million Sales

EA has revealed that sales of The Sims 3 have reached 3.7 million units.

The company said that the title was the bestselling game at retail in Europe and North America combined during its first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2009.

Speaking in an earnings call following the publication of the firm’s quarterly financial results, chief financial officer Eric Brown said that The Sims 3 sell through at retail is outpacing that of its predecessor by 25 per cent.



Brown also revealed that EA Sports Active sold over 1.8 million copies during the quarter, making it the publisher’s bestselling Wii title to date.

Additionally, Brown noted that Fight Night Round 4 sold over 1.7 million copies during the last two weeks of the quarter, while Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, The Godfather 2 and Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince each sold over one million copies during the quarter.
