Atari has announced that Ghostbusters: The Videogame has sold over one million units in North America.
The title was released for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2 and DS on June 16 in the US.
“We are very pleased with the performance of Ghostbusters: The Videogame, and credit the game’s quality as well as the incredible support from both the established and new fan-base all helping to make this a retail success,” said Atari CEO Jim Wilson.
"Ghostbusters appears to be a strong and relevant movie-based franchise videogame independent of a brand-new theatrical release. We look forward to the continued success of the title as interest and acclaim increase across North America.”
The company recently posted first quarter revenue growth of 30.1 per cent, largely thanks to the success of Ghostbusters and The Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault On Dark Athena.
Ghostbusters launched in Europe last month for PS3 and PS2. The game’s release on other platforms is scheduled for October 23.
